Domestic Adoptions in Kentucky

Heart to Home Adoption Agency, LLC (HTH) is a licensed Kentucky adoption agency that provides home studies, post placement visits, adoptive and foster parent education and referrals to other professional agencies to prospective adoptive/foster parents in Kentucky seeking to adopt domestically. We offer face to face meetings to support our adoptive families and our placing parents.
HTH also provides birth parent services such as pregnancy counseling and resource, medical and legal referrals. Heart to Home does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age, creed, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, disability, veteran status, or sexual orientation.

Leigh Shapiro

Leigh Shapiro, M.A., is a native of Kentucky. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education and her Master of Arts in Counseling. She served in the Army while in college and after graduation on active duty and later in the Reserves. She came home to raise her children and to live near extended family. Once she was back in Kentucky, she taught child development at the college level for several years before starting her work in adoption. She founded Heart to Home in 2007. Leigh works to ensure that everyone involved in an adoption is educated, taken care of and respected throughout the process. She created Lauryn’s Legacy, the non-profit organization that supports women after making an adoption placement.

Rebecca Sherrard

Rebecca Sherrard, M.Ed., MFT, is also native of Kentucky. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, her Master of Education in Counseling Psychology and her Post-Master’s training in Marriage and Family Therapy, all at the University of Louisville. She began her professional career as a Child Life Specialist at a local children’s hospital, then worked as a therapist with a counseling agency until accepting the position of Executive Director of Children First Child Advocacy Centers located in Kentucky and Indiana. While directing the child advocacy centers, she found her passion and has a wealth of knowledge about all aspects of adoption. In 2007, she was honored to be awarded the National “Angels in Adoption” Award from the Congressional Coalition Adoption Institute in 2007.
